The club Nostromo organized many good concerts this year, e.g. In Strict Confidence or Terminal Choice. On 18th the gigs of Red Emprez and The Crüxshadows were planned while the German Behind the Scenes cancelled their show.
Red Emprez, who started the concert night, is a band from Bialystok. They've been making music since 2004. The members are Adam (vocal) and Mike (electronics). Their full album is entitled „ Clubgirls and Poofs”; presently they're working on the new material.
In Nostromo we had a chance to see the band doing their utmost: they presented the hits of “Clubgirls...” and also some new material. Dynamically developing concert moved the audience and well, it wasn't a surprise: the music of RE is a combination of electro rhythms and the subtle, more melodious ones: it's like the dance of an angels with a devil in short.
Mike creates melodies which, depending on the atmosphere of the particular track, either vibrate with energy or sooth the listeners with its fragility, whereas Adam's voice is pure poetry: perfect answer to pleads of those who would like the vocalists do both: enchant with sensual warmth and knock down the audience with harsh noise.
Scenically, the concert of Red Emprez was also a reflection of heaven/hell duality - the lights were changing from covering blue to deep red and the musicians played wreathed in thick smoke. It was a very good gig - both musically and visually.
Next, The Crüxshadows appeared on the stage. The concert in Görlitz was a part of “DreamCypher Tour” promoting the recent publishing of the band entitled “DreamCypher”. The Crüxshadows is a project recognized all over the world both thanks to highly dynamic, dancy music and the exquisite performance plus energetic live shows. Having 11 albums on their account, numerous concerts and 'the best of' titles, the band is now seen as one of the finest of world independent scene.
As to their concert in Nostromo – one thing should be mentioned at the very start - The Crüxshadows care for the scenic element very much. Rouge jumped off the stage for many times to dance among the audience (and let the fans hug him :). At some point he dragged a barrel from the other hall, stood on it and sang standing in the middle of the concert hall. During the whole show dancers/backing vocalists Jessica Lackey and Sarah Poulos supported the show with their fine dance. However, the majority of the listeners got utterly enchanted by Rachel McDonnell 's violin music which constituted a counterweight to Rouge's performance. We could listen to a.o: „Sophia”, „The Edge of the World”, „Solus”, „Windbringer”, „Foreverlast”, „Deception” or „Winterborn”.
The concert of the band was created also by means of lights that we changing from cold strobo to warm rays dancing on the stage and the faces of the listeners. It seems the people were satisfied. All in all, the band provided a huge dose of energetic music and a lively show. You may like “Crüx” or not, but you can't deny them scenic conscientiousness and careful preparation.
After the concerts the fans had a chance to talk to the bands, take photos and ask for autographs. Unfortunately there was no after party which fact disappointed some people:)
