As some say, creating hurts...As I could see enacting is a pain as well, not only for the authors, but also – or above all – for the recipients...
The band from Lodz, Socjotech - the only to play live during June edition of Darkbeat - was formed in 20006 as an answer to the pains of the contemporary world whereas the aim of the gents: Kubek and Tractor Esch is filling the minds and souls with love, hope and respect to the word. Plus to fight with hypocrisy, inequality, discrimination and evil... that's what you may read in the manifesto.
How did the band manage to present it all on the stage?
To do them justice one needs to separate the scenic part from their music, otherwise the opinion would be unfair... so, musically Socjotech quite skilfully combines long 'intros', rhythmically enfolding background and cold, electronic, dynamic melodies. It reminds fix8:sed8 a bit or the electro bands such as [:SITD:] and Centhron or Suicide Commando 9 by means of distorted vocal and oversteered passages). all in all gents follow electro line, crossing paths with industrial at times.
the whole seem to sound good, but I'm afraid hardly anyone had that impression at the gig.
Not to mention that the message I wrote about a moment ago didn't have a chance to reach the listeners by means of lyrics cause the words were completely incomprehensible.....As to the performance part – well – the projected visualizations we could not see ( for the background and the light) so apart from saying they were connected with the band's ideology i won't develop on that. Moreover, as to the dynamic of the gig – gently speaking it was insufficient and the eye-contact with the audience (little one – true, but still...) was literally non-existing.
I was told it was one of the first concerts of the band (the third one I believe) so perhaps the machine is still revving up its engine and fitting into the track; their music is OK, but the concert is much more than just that...
