The Goth subculture will continue (as with everything) evolve. Everything changes. Nothing remains the same. For those who think that it will not are living in a dream world.

For they are only looking at Goth's past and not its present or its future.

Sparxtheeternal is talking out of his ass. The goth culture is alive and well in the Uk, just it isn't as big as it used to be.
Problem is, the media promote bands such as HIM and 69Eyes as goth in the UK, when it couldn't be further from the truth.
As an Englishman living in Finland, I would give my hind teeth for a scene like we have in the Uk. The Finnish scene is non existent, which is a shame.

Ive been living in UK for the last 2 years and really I have not noticed that Finnish 'goth' or rock should I say ,is being very much promoted in here. Not at all. You can buy HIM , Nightwish CDs etc, but I wouldn't say it is promoted. I remember it being promoted more in Poland. It is popular for the fact they all sing in English, yes and English goth fans ( not only ) are a bit too lazy to make an effort and listen to something in other language than English. That is how I see it. English people , on general, are not very much interested in the world, unless the world communicates in English. Sad but true.Since these bands operate English with ease they are popular. Very rarely English goth/industrial ( or so called alternative ) fans heard about Rammstein , Oomph ect, yet German goth scene is very big.

True, there is a huge difference between, for example London and hmm... average english town. The question is: why noone is working on it? Its good to have another guys around to get messy with and start the Industrial Party in local club. Just ask Mister Owner. I know, I know its easy to say but otherwise if You really want it - do it.

Sure its not possible to have goth-night-club in every town, but its easy to find some around. All we have to do is keep our lazyness in pocket and move out of average town for a weekend to have some fun :) In Scunthorpe You are probably the only one person with our taste in music Im affraid (since I moved ;p), but what about Sheffield? Emilie Autumn is playing there again soon. How do You think, what kind of stage she has choose? Cause for sure not discotheque (-:
