“Queen of the Damned” Soundtrack

I must say that I quite enjoyed the film itself, but the soundtrack has just blown me away. I rekon that it’s a very ambitious project ,with modern metal sound .All songs have been written by Jonathan Davis of KORN and Richard Gibbs, but Jonathan does not sing a single verse. He managed to invite a few celebrites of modern metal scene ,among them Marylin Manson ,David Draiman, Chester Bennington ,and Wayne Static.
They rock the music! I am not afraid to admit that they did their best and the music from this movie I consider the best ever. It not merely modern loud music, not at all. It is dark, deep ,stunningly mysterious, full of anxiety and sorrow. You can feel the pain ,loneliness and resentment ,you understand that Lestat’s ‘’idea of eternity becomes momentarily unbearable’’. All tracks are incredible and show sad ,wasteful existence of a vampire and his empty world of darkness. The music is much more darker and scary than the movie itself.
Apart from the regular soundtrack you can find ( in good music stores I believe) the instrumental version ,i.e a classical one. It has only classical pieces as Lestat used to play the violin. The tinkling sounds of Lestat’s violin are beautiful and haunting, a masterpiece. It’s erotic, scary and gothic at the same time. A journey worth every minute.

Regular track listing:
• 1. "Not Meant For Me" - Jonathan Davis/Richard Gibbs track featuring Wayne Static of Static-X
• 2. "Forsaken" - Jonathan Davis/Richard Gibbs track featuring David Draiman of Disturbed
• 3. "System" - Jonathan Davis/Richard Gibbs track featuring Chester Bennington of Linkin Park
• 4. "Change" - Deftones
• 5. "Redeemer" - Jonathan Davis/Richard Gibbs track featuring Marilyn Manson
• 6. "Dead Cell" - Papa Roach
• 7. "Penetrate" - Godhead
• 8. "Slept So Long" - Jonathan Davis/Richard Gibbs track featuring Jay Gordon of Orgy
• 9. "Down With The Sickness" - Disturbed
• 10. "Cold" - Static-X
• 11. "Headstrong" - Earshot
• 12. "Body Crumbles" - Dry Cell
• 13. "Excess" - Tricky
• 14. "Before I'm Dead" - Kidney Thieves

Classical track listing :
Jesse's Dream / On The Beach / Secret Passage / Air Lestat / A Walk In The Park /Maharet / Prodigal Sun / The Queen Is Dead / Long Live Jesse

I must say that I don't like soundtracks. They're boring to me. I have only two soundtracks tha I like, but I'm not listening to them to often. They are soundtrack from John Carpenters "The Thing", and from Francis Ford Coppolas "Dracula".

I love "Million Dollar Hotel" soundtrack - this one's my favourite. I also like music from "Pulp Fiction" and "Kill Bill" :)

Soundtrack from Wolfgang Petersen's "Das Boot" is excellent. All soundtracks made by John Williams too of course :)

The 'Coraline' soundtrack, Mirrormask, and most everything (soundtrack-wise) done by Elfman.
